5 More Songs That Make Me Feel

I enjoyed writing my last “5 Songs That Make Me Feel” post, so I decided to do another. this one doesn’t really have a theme like last time. They’re just really great songs to listen to and I wanted to share.

1. Big Boob Bitch by Dai Burger

Big Boob Bitch by Dai Burger

First of all, I want this song played at my funeral. When my body is being lowered into my new hole home I want my loved ones to hear my anthem. Big Boob Bich is how I’ll be remembered.  I don’t believe in marriage but if I did, I would also want to walk down the aisle to this song. It turns me up like no other. The lyrics are so simple but they speak to me. I feel like I was given big boobs just for this song. My life hasn’t been the same since I discovered Dai Burger. Her music makes me feel like dancing. And screaming. Dancing and screaming at the same time.

Favorite Lyric: “Big boob bitch”

2. Triggered by Jhene Aiko

Triggered by Jhene Aiko

Triggered makes me feel really upset at an ex that I don’t have. I don’t know why I get so emotional about this song. the first note plays and I’m ANGRY. But I don’t really relate. Or maybe I do and I’m just repressing emotions. I am an angry human being so I think that’s why I feel so close to it. She’s saying all these angry things in such a soothing voice and the calmest instrumentals. You can’t stop yourself from being in your feelings while listening to this.

Favorite Lyrics: “You are my enemy, you are no friend of mine, you mufucker”

“Might fuck around have to pay me in blood.”

“Don’t let me catch you face to face in this bitch”

“Cuz when I get mad, I get big mad”

“I’m a bad lil bitch”

3. Troop by Tobi Lou Ft. Smino

Troop by Tobi Lou Ft. Smino

I found this song completely by accident. Youtube was on autoplay and I think I was listening to a smino song right before. The video played and it was such a cool concept. The song is a vibe. I just want to lay down and watch the stars while listening to this.

Favorite Lyrics: “Got my hair in buns, bitch I think I’m cute.”

“I’m black and I’m beautiful”

“Your bitch think I’m beautiful”

4. Beautiful Stranger by Via Rosa

Beautiful Stranger by Via Rosa

Since I couldn’t link “Lookin’ At Me Different” last week, I decided to talk about another Via Rosa song.  You know when you’re just listening to random things on SoundCloud and you find new music? So that’s how I found Via Rosa in the first place. It’s such a pretty song. I like the idea that she’s fascinated with a complete stranger and that she’s willing to go where they are just because. When I first heard it, I just replayed it until I let my mind wander. Try breaking me out of that daydream.

Favorite Lyrics: “where are you from and is it close? and can we go?”

“I know if I didn’t say it now, you’d might walk into the crowd and disappear”

5.  Bacon and Eggs by Priscilla Renea

Bacon and Eggs by Priscilla Renea

I wanted to talk about Priscilla Renea as well! Bacon and Eggs is one of the first songs that introduced me to her. It’s so upbeat and happy. If you’re ever feeling down, this is the song to listen to! Your body starts dancing around and you’re screaming along. It’s like the best song to perform in your shower concert. I’ll let the song speak for itself.

Favorite Lyrics: “I’ll do whatever it takes to keep a smile on your face”

5 Songs That Make Me Feel

So does anyone else make different playlists in their heads? Like I don’t compile them on spotify or soundcloud or anything like that. But my brain has it saved. I have an ever growing list of songs that make me feel for a variety of reasons. Sometimes it’s just one verse or the instrumentals or even the background vocals. Sometimes it’s just the vibe I get. I wanted to share some of these songs but I’ll do 5 at a time and different themes. The theme of this first set will be songs that inspired me to write. Sometimes when I hear music, I use the lyrics/story as a writing prompt.

So let’s get into the vibes

1.  Lost by Chance the Rapper Ft. Noname

Lost By Chance the Rapper Ft. Noname

This song came from Chance’s mixtape, Acid Rap. Firstly, I think all the songs that feature Chance and Noname together are gold. There’s no way around it.  Noname’s verse is my favorite part. Noname is one of my favorite people. I’d like to imagine that we’re friends. This song inspiredWhat inspires me is the idea of being friends with someone who has the same bad coping mechanisms as you. The bad coping mechanisms here, are drugs and sex. I think that when you’re going through something and all you want to do is escape is a story in itself.

Favorite lyrics: “Damn I’m in so deep/ probably cause you’re empty”

“Imma fix you Imma fuck you Imma get rid of them demons”

“Fuck me into open casket I wanna die with this

“I wanna stop seeing my psychiatrist”

“When the only time he loves me is naked in my dreams.”

2.  Healer by Mick Jenkins Ft. Jean Deaux

Healer by Mick Jenkins Ft. Jean Deaux

I found Healer on “The Waters” mixtape. The whole vibe of this song is unmatched. I’ll play this on repeat for hours and I won’t get tired of it. It’s just so relaxing. I constantly get lost in it. I know this is Mick’s song but Jean Deaux really makes it for me. Her verse is my favorite. Jean Deaux sings the hook, “… you heal my body baby. You soothe my achin’ soul.” If you meet someone and your feelings are so strong that you feel like they’re healing you???? That’s so powerful. I think that’s such a captivating storyline.

Favorite lyrics: “Conversations all priceless, topics range from the innermost thoughts to all the trifling shit on worldstar and other solar systems and other planets of people and how close our worlds are.”

“You feel like water baby. You heal my body baby. You soothe my achin’ soul”

3.  Genesis by Ravyn Lenae

Genesis by Ravyn Lenae

Genesis is the first song on Ravyn Lenae’s Midnight Moonlight EP. I Immediately hit replay as soon as it finished playing. You can’t tell me this song doesn’t make you feel. I played this while I was hanging out with friends and 20 seconds in my friend goes “this sounds so sexy.” and you know what? She’s right. I kind of just want to let the song speak for itself. But the inspiration I get from this song is different. Now stay with me. In my opinion, this music sounds alluring. Almost as if the goal of the song is to put a spell on them. When Ravyn sings “can I steal you from the night,” I can only imagine a siren singing her song to lure men to their death. I mean her lyrics are talking about love but luring someone to their death sounds a lot more interesting to me.

Favorite lyrics: “I think I want you for a thousand… I think I loved you for a thousand [years]”

“Can I maybe steal you from the night.”

“When they gave us life, did they maybe crown me as your wife?”

“Under water son and daughter, save the universe.”

It took mad long to get to my last 2 songs and they aren’t even available to post here. I’m really upset. So these last 2 are just there. I know these songs and I have them but I cannot post work that was deleted because I think it’s rude. I’m still going to talk about them so sad that you guys can’t listen to them as well.

4.  Lookin At Me Different by Via Rosa

Via Rosa. when you google” lookin at me different via rosa” this is the first picture that comes up

I first heard this on soundcloud a few years ago. So I went back to find a link and it was  deleted.  These are the lyrics:

I said I love you. You said I love you too, and I cried ’cause I gave my love to another man last night. You said you wasn’t ready, and I said I understood. And  I lied. And I died inside. I know you’re lookin’ at me different. I hope you’re not lookin’ at me different. I know you’re lookin’ at me different. Some say that you only get one, one chance from each life to fuck it all up. Yeah you’re only getting one. One chance form each life to fuck it all up (Lookin’ At Me Different by Via Rosa)

when I first heard this song I played it until I heard it in my dreams. It just sounds so smooth. So sad. When I hear it, I want to tell a story about failed life experiences. a failed job, a failed relationship, a failed friendships. I just like writing sad things.

Favorite lyric: “Some say that you only get one, one chance from each life to fuck it all up.”

5.  An untitled song that was never released but I heard in a youtube video of Priscilla Renea practicing on stage. The video has been deleted but I know the lyrics kinda. It was only like a 40 second snippet.

Priscilla Renea

Lyrics:

“The time you spent with me

Don’t have to rally up all of your energy

But when I ask you to

Could you be there for me

If you care to be, just remember me

I’m not asking you to say you love me

if that’s not what you feel

I’m not asking you to say you love me just to try and keep me here

oh yeah oh yeah oh yeah oh yeah oh yeah oh yeah” (Priscilla Renea)

I’m really upset that the video was deleted and that a full version was never released. I like to think of the song as a goodbye letter to a loved one. I want to be able to write a romantic story one day. When I learn what romance means of course.

Favorite Lyric: “I’m not asking you to say you love me, if that’s not what you really feel.”
